FQM Mountain Bike Series Event at Ndubaluba a Great Success
Ndubaluba / Chengelo were proud to host the second race of the FQM MTB series on May 12. It was the first time the event was put on outside of Solwezi and Trident School.
The course was designed by Lance Vaughn, which included some great features such as deep holes, steep anthill ascents and great winding bush tracks. The riders mainly from Chengelo, Trident College and an FQM development squad enjoyed the new route and its challenges. Jared Falcone came 4th in the Junior Boys (under 14) race and Nala Brubacher came first in the Junior Girls (under 16) race. Lance Vaughn won the Youth Men (under 18) race and Nicholas Edmondson came in 5th and Philipp Drazdik 6th.
Stephanie Nyambe came second in the Women Open (over 18) race and Adam Sherriff won the Men’s Open (over 18) race. Each position across the four races in the series earns the riders points towards a final score which could give them a position in the Zambian team competing in SA later in the year.
Well done to all the riders and those who helped in making it such a fun and memorable event.
