Sable House win 2018 Primary Inter-House Cross Country

The Chengelo Primary Inter-House Cross Country took place on Saturday 7th April to cap off an exciting first term of 2018.

The children had been practising throughout the term in P.E. lessons and after-school sports sessions. Each grade in the school was split into two groups for the races, with the exception of the largest class in the school, Grade 7, which was split into three groups. The shortest route was 350 metres for the Grade 1 groups, while the Grade 7 groups were running 2.1 kilometres.

There were some great performances from the participants and some very close finishes. Many runners beat their personal best times from P.E. lessons and the spectators enjoyed some impressive displays of cross-country running.

The final scores were the closest in recent memory, with just five points separating the three houses. Defending champions Kudu finished third with 54 points, Impala second with 57 points and Sable were crowned champions with 59 points.

Well done to all involved in organising the event, thanks to the parents and friends who came to witness the event, and congratulations to the pupils who tried their best in this year’s cross-country event.
