Art and Design at Chengelo aims to teach students to persevere through various stages of creative work. Our curriculum is based on the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations Syllabus. Our aim is to help students develop lasting passions for creativity and create a final polished piece in a variety of different mediums of art. Some of these include pencil, charcoal, watercolor, crayon, chalk pastel, oil pastel, acrylic, ink, pottery and photography.
Within this process students examine their subjects in detail in order to appreciate the depth and complexities within that subject. They are taught to carefully consider perspective, explore cultural bias and seek points of view different to their own through research whilst attempting to communicate their emotions through their work.
Advanced students will develop a comprehensive portfolio of their own work as they explore artists, their styles and their contribution to the world of art.
