BTEC Field Trip to Damast Farm

Our BTEC Diploma in Agriculture students spent a day at Damast Farms in Mkushi! There, they enjoyed helping out with combining on Mr Daka’s wheat.

The farm operates a Case 6130 combine, and each student was able to practice their combine driving skills, with Chikumbutso Daka supervising them. Some of the students also operated the tractors and trailers which were taking the wheat back to the shed. Adam Sherriff and Andrew Ross were able to help with some discing as the land was made ready for the next crop.

We are thankful to Mr and Mrs Daka for kindly letting us utilise their farm for some practical experience!

The BTEC Diploma in Agriculture course aims to give students the practical skills needed to complement the knowledge gained in the classroom. For more information on the course please visit the Sixth Form section of our website at www.chengeloschool.org.
