World Ocean Day 2022

Chengelo Primary took a deep dive into the World Ocean Day by celebrating the ocean that connects us all. It was an opportunity to dress up for the ocean (the children all wore blue) and get crafty with fun ocean-themed ideas and activities.

The 2022 theme: ‘Our Blue’ was to help students understand (and feel) their connection to the ocean through their nearest blue space — whether that’s a beach, river, canal, stream or lake.

Our Assembly was held near ‘our blue’ space – the furrow – and focused on how we can be responsible with God’s earth.

Children from all grades showed creativity in their ocean-inspired craft and winners were chosen because of their inventiveness, use of recycling and mixed media.
