Ex-Chengelo Student to Join Holy Trinity Brompton Training Programme

Chengelo would like to congratulate Mbuwemi Nyirenda on being accepted into the Holy Trinity Brompton Church training programme. Mbuwemi graduated from Chengelo Sixth Form in 2018 and immediately pursued his passion for music. Whilst waiting to gain entrance to university he practiced playing piano, guitar, drums and rapping for up to 4 hours every day.

I am delighted to see Mbuwemi using his talents in this way to honour and praise God. HTB offer a great opportunity for him and I am sure God will use him widely.

- Mr Andrew Cowling, Principal of Chengelo School

During this time he performed on several platforms and this helped him secure an opportunity to go to Hillsong Australia.  However, due to challenges with gaining the required visa,  he was unable to take up this opportunity. Despite this setback, Mbuwemi kept working hard and held onto his faith. He believes “faith is about seeing nothing happening but believing God it will happen one day".

Whilst waiting for an opening Mbuwemi released several songs, two of which have proved popular around the continent. Recently Mbuwemi received an advert offering training at HTB Church and he immediately applied. Within a month he was accepted and will be joining the team at HTB later this year!

Well done Mbuwemi! We wish you all the very best and God's blessing as you develop your musical talents in praise and worship!
