A Message from the Head of Sixth Form Mr. Francis Sichinga
It is my privilege to lead Chengelo’s Sixth Form, where we prepare students not only for university but for life beyond school. These years are a crucial stage of growth, and at Chengelo we are intentional about developing the whole person, academically, spiritually, physically, and in character.
Our Sixth Form offers rigorous academics that open doors to leading universities around the world, but equally important is the Christ-centred ethos that shapes every aspect of life here. Students are encouraged to grow in leadership, resilience, and integrity, so that they are ready to make a meaningful impact wherever they go.
Life in the Sixth Form is vibrant and varied. From the classroom to the sports field, from outdoor adventures at Ndubaluba to service and leadership opportunities within the school community, students are continually challenged to discover their strengths and step into their calling. This balanced experience ensures they leave Chengelo not only well-prepared academically but also confident, grounded, and vision-driven.

Rooted in Christ, we are committed to nurturing every child’s growth—spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.
Pastoral Care & Boarding
To support Sixth Form students, Chengelo provides a strong pastoral system including house parents, tutors, mentors, and discipleship leaders. Each student is assigned a tutor in Form 6 for academic and pastoral guidance. Regular meetings with house parents offer further encouragement and care, creating a nurturing environment where students feel supported, known, and equipped for growth.
Academics & Curriculum
Our Sixth Form is a high achieving, vibrant community where students are encouraged to aim high and grow in character. Many graduates go on to study at top universities around the world. We’re proud to hear stories from alumni who credit Chengelo with laying a strong foundation, both academically and spiritually, for their journey ahead.
Extra Curricular Activities
Sixth Form students at Chengelo are encouraged to explore their talents through clubs, sports, and leadership training. With opportunities at our Ndubaluba Outdoor Centre and through the Duke of Edinburgh Award, students develop resilience, teamwork, and strong character. Expeditions and outdoor experiences are core to nurturing confident leaders prepared to thrive beyond the classroom.
Student Leadership
Sixth Form leadership positions, such as prefect, head boy, and head girl, are awarded to students who embody Chengelo’s values and lead by example. These students support staff, mentor younger peers, and represent the school at key events. They also help organise social and fundraising activities, playing an essential role in maintaining a positive school culture and ensuring daily life runs smoothly.
Living at Chengelo
Life in Sixth Form at Chengelo offers greater independence, smaller class sizes, and personalised learning. Students benefit from a dedicated Sixth Form Centre with lecture rooms, internet access, and communal spaces. Unique to Chengelo is the provision of individual study bedrooms, giving students privacy and space to focus, reflect, and thrive during this academically demanding stage.
Sixth Form Course Choices
Chengelo Sixth Form offers a wide variety of courses to study, out of which, students are expected to select 3-4 subjects for their A Level studies. Their choices will depend on their future ambitions, both in terms of career and university destination, but will also be subject to the logistical demands of the timetable.
